General Info

Korean Grill Kensington on Courtfield Rd, South Kensington, London SW7 4LH, United Kingdom, is the kind of place that quickly earns a spot on your regular dinner list. This Korean restaurant focuses on bold grilled flavors and a relaxed dining atmosphere, making it a great choice whether you’re planning a casual evening out or meeting friends for a proper dinner. From the moment you sit down and look through the menu, it’s clear the focus here is all about quality meat and classic Korean grilling.

One of the first things that stands out on the menu is the selection of grilled specialties. The Yakiniku is a highlight and a good starting point for anyone who enjoys interactive dining. Cooking the meat over the grill right at the table adds a fun element to the meal and makes the experience feel social and lively, especially when dining with a group. The aroma of freshly grilled beef alone is enough to get everyone around the table excited.

Another standout is the Korean BBQ Ribeye Steak. The cut is rich and flavorful, and grilling it brings out a deep, smoky taste that pairs perfectly with the Korean BBQ style. It’s the type of dish that feels both comforting and indulgent at the same time. If you’re visiting with friends or family, ordering a few different grilled meats and sharing them around the table makes the dinner feel even more satisfying.

For something a bit more premium, the Wagyu Beef deserves attention. Its tenderness and marbling create a melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s hard to forget. When placed on the grill, the flavor intensifies beautifully, making it one of the most memorable bites on the menu. Many reviews of Korean Grill Kensington often highlight this dish as a must-try for anyone who appreciates high-quality beef.

The restaurant is set up perfectly for dine-in guests who want a relaxed but enjoyable evening. It’s a comfortable location for dinner, and the atmosphere works well for groups looking to share dishes and spend time around the grill. The restaurant also serves alcohol, which pairs nicely with the rich grilled meats and helps round out the dining experience.

Another convenient detail is that Korean Grill Kensington accepts reservations, which is helpful since dinner times can get busy, especially with larger groups. Planning ahead ensures you can settle in comfortably and take your time exploring the menu without feeling rushed.

With its strong focus on Korean grilling, standout dishes like Yakiniku, Korean BBQ Ribeye Steak, and Wagyu Beef, and a welcoming dine-in environment, Korean Grill Kensington offers a straightforward but satisfying dining experience in South Kensington. What customers say?

“ I had an amazing dinner at KGK on Gloucester Road in London – honestly, the best Korean restaurant I’ve tried here so far! Not only was the food incredible, but the upscale interior made the whole experience even better. The Unagi rice was a standout – the egg rolled omelette inside paired beautifully with the sauce, which was absolutely delicious. Both the beef tartare and salmon tartare came with sauces that matched perfectly, and the Mulhoe sauce was so good! As for the mains, the Flat Iron, KGK Galbi, and Suwon Galbi were all cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, juicy, and melted in the mouth – truly one of the best dinners I’ve had in London. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic yet elevated Korean dining! ”

“ Really fancy restaurant to have proper Korean food, the seasoning of ribs was amazing also the starters, gimbap and beef tartare were absolutely good for appetite, really nice staffs, customer service. ”

“ When we arrived with our reservation, we were welcomed with a 1.5-hour time limit for our table. The menu is modern, with some upscale dishes, but not the full options I expected from a Korean BBQ spot. We love the beef quality and the cooking by the staff to perfection. Iberico pork belly was a big disappointment as it was mostly fat (see picture for your reference). It was basically eating grilled pork fat, with a glimpse of meat. My daughter didn't like that dish at all. When I inquired, it seems to be normal for their Iberico pork... warning to future diners on buyer beware. For an upscale place with service charge, it's surprising for them to charge £1 for a takeaway box. Oh well, it's been a while since I had decent Korean BBQ. To end on a high note, the egg souffle is quite good. ”

“ Incredible food and flawless service! Came back after a while and was pleasantly surprised by the updated menu, so many changes! It gave me the chance to try some new Korean dishes, and each one was a hit. The new galbi and seared mackerel nigiri were especially outstanding, genuinely next-level. Definitely coming back for those. Staff were just lovely, so welcoming and professional. Still my favourite Korean spot in London. Classy, cosy, and full of good vibes ”

“ All the dishes were delicious, and the quality of the meat was excellent. In particular, the sauce for the sea bream mulhwe was tangy and flavorful, and the wagyu flat iron was juicy and incredibly tasty. The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere, making it a perfect place for a date or a special occasion. The staff were friendly, and the service was outstanding. ”

“ Korean Grill Kensington (KGK) is an exciting Korean barbecue omakase experience in South Kensington, perfect for a memorable father and son dinner. Expect theatre, flavour, and quality you can taste from the first bite. We visited KGK on a relaxed Sunday lunch in South Kensington, drawn in by the promise of an authentic Korean barbecue omakase experience. Tucked in the heart of the area, KGK feels refined yet welcoming, with each table centred around an in-built tabletop grill that immediately sets the tone for something interactive and special. Inside, the lighting is warm and softly focused on each table, creating an intimate setting without feeling formal. The gentle hum of conversation and the sound of grilling meat add to the atmosphere. It strikes a balance between elegant dining and the lively spirit of Korean barbecue culture. We opted for the Chef’s Feast 2.0, which includes accompaniments such as egg soufflé, ssam, spicy spring onion salad, and KGK salad, followed by premium cuts ready to grill at the table. The Rosendale Wagyu ribeye and Wagyu kalbi were beautifully marbled, tender, and rich once caramelised over the flames. The signature King Kalbi, with its diamond cut and house marinade, delivered deep savoury notes with a subtle sweetness. Paired with steamed rice, kimchi, and soup of the day, every bite felt balanced and considered. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Vianka and Daeun guided us through grilling times and menu choices, and it was reassuring to see clear halal options available. The pacing was smooth, making the experience comfortable even with a child at the table. This is ideal for families, special occasions, or anyone looking for a hands-on Korean fine dining experience in London. I would happily return for another Korean barbecue omakase evening. ”

“ The environment is modern and clean. The food was delicious, especially the marinated beef. The soup as full of ingredients which made us very happy. The side dish of pickled turnip was very appetising too. A highly recommended restaurant in the area! ”

“ This restaurant is definitely going on my dinner list. The food quality meets the standard, with an exotic touch in flavor, and both the service and ambiance are truly impressive. I’d rate it around 4.3 to 4.5. I started with the Japchae, which was beautifully prepared—the aroma of sesame hit me right away. For the main course, I had Korean-style marinated beef, tiger prawns, and seasonal vegetables. The prawns were fresh and delightful, and the service throughout was highly professional. I really appreciated the attentiveness of the server. The beef, while tender and juicy, was a bit too sweet for my taste, and some parts were slightly chewy. That said, the portion sizes were generous. One thing I especially liked: you don’t leave the restaurant smelling like a BBQ. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, and I’m looking forward to trying other dishes on my next visit. ”
